A resource for Craft Beer on the Central Coast.

About Craft 805

Craft 805 is the result of years of craft beer drinking and identifying a need for a single resource for the Central Coast area and it’s emerging craft beer scene.

Back in 2011 I dove headfirst into the craft beer scene by going on a year long “quest” to drink 300 different beers over 365 days. Only months before had I tasted beer, hell even alcohol, for the first time and figured the only way to learn was to drink!

The following years this became the norm, drinking 300 new and different beers than the previous year. Over the span of 4 years I drank well over 1200 different beers. I traveled to great beer cities, and not so great beer cities, looking for new and unusual brews. I was able to absorb so much from each experience.

Early on during “The Quest” I began to notice a lack of knowledge and selection when it came to beer on the Central Coast. On the larger, craft scale you had Firestone who were chugging along just fine and then a few local breweries in their shadow but when it came to bottle shops, liquor stores, bars and restaurants craft beer was barely a thought.

Since then I’ve been impressed with the progress made but I feel like there still is plenty of room the consumer retailer and producer to progress and for a true beer culture to emerge.
